About the Founders
A Legacy of Resilience and Cultural Preservation
Pappoli Sapera, born in the desert of Jaisalmer, has lived a life deeply intertwined with the nomadic traditions of the Kalbeliya-Sapera community. Shaped by both hardship and rich cultural heritage, her journey is a testament to the resilience and strength of the Kalbeliya people. Despite facing challenges, she carries the wisdom and perseverance passed down through generations.
Together with her daughter, Khushbhu Sapera, they represent a unique convergence of traditional knowledge and modern perspectives. Khushbhu, the first in her family to receive a Western education, navigates the complexity of being half-Sapera and half-Western. Raised between two worlds, she has dedicated herself to fostering understanding and collaboration across cultures.Khushbhu's upbringing between two worlds has inspired her to bridge cultural gaps and foster mutual understanding through immersive learning and conscious collaboration.
From their shared vision, The Kalbeliya Collective was born—a platform dedicated to empowering the Kalbeliya community by celebrating cultural identity, preserving traditions, and creating sustainable opportunities for future generations. Through this initiative, Pappoli and Khushbhu Sapera seek to honor their roots while paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable future for their people.
